Random Crashes at Rombot

#1 Post by Statesider » Fri Feb 22, 2013 10:49 am

hey, using rombot for a long time and I have to experience random crashes time by time if i´m botting minigames. Especially malatinas survival crashes a lot...
I dont know what is wrong. Usually botting with 2 characters at the same time. Getting this weird crash message

try watching if this is happening on first second third more often

I find if i have second one busy and start a third then one or other will crash usualy the second.

windows versions seem to affect this also.

If you are using multiple clients botting at the same time and they may possibly use some click to cast skills, like thunderstorm. make the game smaller and don't overlap any of them, you should be able to fit 4 comfortably on a screen.

You will find you will have less crashes that way.

I have 3-4 botting KS all at the same time, all using thunderstorm, if I overlap any games they sometimes crash, if I don't overlap the games they run for days without a crash.

I put them like this.

Which is strange as you don't even need the windows open to use Thunderstorm. But maybe there is some weird thing that makes that more stable. It may even be just because the windows are smaller.

My theory was more along the lines that even when the game isn't focus the mouse icon is still affected by the game and that because the usage of thunderstorm makes the mouse seem to be in that spot for a split second that it might be adversly affected by other games in the same position on the screen.

Either way, it used to crash and now it doesn't, for me atleast =)

I can't quite wrap my head around it but I guess it's possible.

I just wanted to ask, do you leave them open or can you minimize the windows, after setting them up like that, to get that level of reliability?

I usually leave them up on screen, I like to pause them occasionally to mail gold or pop back to house for more luck pots and if minimised I find making them not minimised makes the PC start to think to much and I see unstick tries on MM.
I have on occasion had them minimised and they didn't crash in a 24H period.

I've had a few people send me private messages asking about the models in the pic on this topic.

The pic in question has no models at all, all you have to do is move the model.fdb file out of the fdb folder, it's that simple. I also move out all texture files, sound.fdb and music.fdb. I just move them all to another folder so that when I want to play manually I just move the model and texture files back to the fdb folder before starting the game.

Keep in mind that models can be important in some areas, if you intend to go to a "building model" then you will need models, example is varanas. If you intend to just walk on the ground the entire time then you probably don't need the models. So in that pic I am doing the daily at heffner, which you don't need any models for.
