Waypoint-Files are not working properly since the last rev

#1 Post by spawni » Thu Dec 08, 2011 4:30 am

Since I have updated the bot to the newest version I have some serious problems.

What happens?
Working waypoint-files which run for weeks without any problem show serious problems.
for example:
KS-Script - in 3 of 10 cases the bot did not find npc pancer - just runnig arround.
KS-Script - getting stuck right after entering the instance
KS-Script - getting stuck in some parts of the instance - where it never had problems before.
CS-Script - not getting in instance - even if i try the solution with the step-back and retry
Malatina Survival- working only with mage - scout cant target any mob there (not even the pylons which stand there when you enter)
In my Script in which I handel matts in the houes (making sand for example) the bot stands not where it has stand before all the times. Instead it stand left or right from original spot.

First - what have I done:
I always try to make sure that it isn´t something that I have changed.
To be sure, that this is not a problem with my installation - i installed everything new and did a svn-update.

Changes nothing.

For me it seems, that there is something wrong with the waypoints in general.

My questions
1. Anyone else with the same prob?
2. Any hint / trick?
3. Does it make sense to do the waypoints completely new?

Well I know there is a major issue with ranged characters and using skills. This is because they attempted to "improve" using ranged skills by not allowing them to shoot through walls and such. Unfortunately the developers of RoM are absolute idiots and any spec of dirt on the ground is enough to get the target obstructed message on screen making it almost impossible to play some characters.
So this is a game issue and we can't do much about it, unless every character in game flew 50 yards above the ground and I doubt they would appreciate that happening lol

As for the WP issue and getting stuck, others have been reporting similar issues and I think Rock has narrowed it down to the code he did to try to make moving more accurate. It works fine for some people but not so good for others. Not sure if he has come up with a solution for it as yet.

This sounds to me like it is doing some code and therefore getting a delay before it checks distance to destination. So in reality it is always running past it's destination and then turning and trying again. I have seen this before but only when there is a lot of things being calculated at the time. So it might come down to what the code is for that waypoint #

So at this stage I don;t have any solutions to your problems, maybe start with posting the code at the waypoint that goes to the NPC.

This has already been reported and there is a trick that others have reported fixes the problem.

So I'm committing the change to revision 681. It should behave like 677 so there should be no more problems.
