How to detect Disconnect?

#1 Post by RebornX » Mon Jan 24, 2011 9:33 am

Hi,

I've a problem. My internet connection is unstable, so nearly every hour the game lose the connection and logged out into login screen.
So i must retype my nickname and password manualy, even with the autologin addon http://www.solarstrike.net/phpBB3/viewt ... =21&t=1245
How can i configure the bot, to detect disconnects and automatically login after DC?

____
sry for my bad english...

I think the main issue would be detecting when you get your connection back, it can detect when it is disconnected easy enough but to detect when your internet is running again would involve more work. I don't think constantly trying to make RoM log into your account over and over for 10 minutes would be a good way to deal with the issue.

I'm thinking you would need to set up for yourself an ip ping, that would check your internet connection. This is something that would be specific for yourself, I don't know if other people are having any issues like this.
Basically you would need to adjust the bot for your own purpose. Any time the bot is updated you would also need to update the files you have changed/added to make this work for you.

Might be easier to fix the reason you get disconnected in the first place??

No, i can't solve the disconnected problem. And even if i could, sometimes rom kicked me also with connection.

After a Disconnect my connection comes back after 5-10 seconds. So it is no problem to logging in after 20 seconds.

lisa you said that it can detect when it is disconnected easy enough. What should i write into my bot script to detect it? And how can i automatically logging in after that?

Does the MM window show any error messages when you lose connection? Error messages are yellow.

Yes, but at first the MM runs as usual, exept that it show the message that the character is stuck somewhere. He try to get the character free, but he writes the move keys ("wasd") in the login password box. He tries it 6-10 times, and after that he show the message "...MicroMacro/scripts/rom/classes/pawn.lua:334: Error reading memory in CPawn:update()"

I hope you understand me xD

That can actually work in our favour and yes I do understand what you mean =)

I'm working on a couple of ideas that might work for your situation, it would only really work for 1 bot running, not sure I could make it work for multibotting.

do you know the time it usually disconnects? or does it vary quite a lot.
So every 15 mins? 20 mins? 60 mins?
