cant get the status of a quest

How can i get the id of a quest with the quest name?

You didn't have to hijack someone else's topic. You can start your own topic.
You can get the quest id a number of ways. I believe if you have my
TooltipIds addon it will show the quest id in the tooltip when you mouse over the quest in the log book.
Or you can use my
language converter program with McBens FDB Extractor.
There are probably other ways but I think these 2 are the easiest.

I think it's also easy to code a function that can do it. I'll have a crack at it and post it in the userfunctions section.

I am not sure what you meant by hijack I thought I posted in tread asking about quest ids I've started so many I was trying to save some thread (pun).
I tried the mouse over with the tool tip but did not see a id. I will attempt it again, could be one of these quest add-ons may be the cause of the fail id.
