Monster HP Modifier

Ok, at first I thought this was the anti-camping measure I'd heard about but even if it id I think I've found it to be a local variable. I don't know if it's just for show or if it really does change the hp of the monster but the way I tested it was to return to character select and log back in in the exact same spot.

The monster had 3000 hp when I went to character select and had 1200 hp when I came back (this was in the same channel, I made sure of it).

If this modifer exists locally it can be manipulated to be particularly low but unfortunately for me I'm not smart enough to even find an offset correctly. If anyone's interested in looking into this I'll try to help.

I have not heard of any such thing as I have not played the game in about a year. Are you saying that if you stay in an area long enough that local enemies will have their HP buffed against you? It would help to know whether this is just visual or not. Could it even just be a bug?

It seems to be random, after staying for a while they seem to all be high so every few hours I'll come back and pause; revert to my character select screen; and then log back in and resume the bot. Every time I do this the hp of the monster in front of me changes. At this point I've seen it enough to know I'm not imagining it but I can't really say if it's just visual.

I've even done this a few times today ;)

If you test this do it in the lvl 15+ range monsters, the noob monsters don't show this change.

I originally noticed this odd trend when one of my botted characters ran into some lvl 15 npcs that started 1000-1500 hp and ended having 2500+ thus taking too long to kill so my char would die at what seemed randomly (this of course leans towards it being more than visual).

Oh yea, so you can close this I tested it thoughly counting damage and comparing hp ranges. This IS only cosmetic. The different HP's are actually idential on the server.
