Using item:moveTo("bank") function

In a function of mine, I want to move an item from my backpack to my bank. I'm going to do this from the housemaid in Varanas West. Do I need to target the housemaid and select the open bank option before using the function? Or is that included in the item:moveTo("bank") function? Thanks
