Please call them 'userfunctions'.

Can I please ask people to get in the habit of calling the rombot addons, "userfunctions" instead? That will reduce confusion for some newer members who get confused between the game addons and rombot addons. That's the original reason why I asked Administrator to change the folder name to 'userfunctions'. Thank you.

I think what might add to the confusion is when you name your function file it needs to be called addon_ so anytime someone d/l a function they see the file name as addon_ .

Nah not saying to change it, just saying that part of the confusion would come from there =)
Basically anything that goes in rom/interface/addon folder should be classed as an addon, anything we do for rombot should be classed as a userfunction.
Exactly as rock5 said =)

It would have been nice if, when changing the folder name, Administrator changed the file name to, to something like "uf_userfunctionname.lua". I think "userfunction_userfunctionname.lua" might have been too long.
I'm not suggesting we change it. All I'm asking is for people, especially the big forum contributors, to remember to call userfunctions "userfunctions" so that when noobs read the forum it clear to them which is which.

Maybe the Userfunctions sub-forum should be called "Userfunctions, Waypoints,..." instead of "Addons, (...)"?

We could change it, but allow the current convention for compatibility reasons. Anyone against doing this?

Great idea! Change but allow both! Also, change the sub forum while you're at it!

I guess it's easy enough to allow for backward compatibility.
But what do you intend to change it to?

Doesn't mater to me, as long as it's something many people can agree upon.

I'd say "uf_somename".

Actually on second thought maybe it wouldn't matter if they were called
After all you wouldn't be having to type it often or anything.

Agreed, you never have to do anything with the file name, only matters what is inside the file. File name should let you know what is inside but that's about it.
So I would probably go with userfunction_name.lua

Whatever, use both if you will! Some people are just lazy like me and prefer to type uf_ instead even if it is only once! xD
