UNABLE to LOGIN after server CODEBASE change

Hello!
To bot in a certain server i was accessing it from another different version client in a separated rom folder. Just changed the runedev address and done.
The problem is the server changed the codebase from 6.x to 7.x (i don't even know what this implies LOL) and now every time i try to connect (with the other client, not the server's one) i get the "Connection lost, please check connection or firewall setting" message.
What did they change? Is there a possibility to solve this?
