Neat, it appears to be working. I've gotta go to work so I can't really test it, but after watching a couple fights it appears to be working as intended.
My melee character is doing the same thing, except he only has to be fighting ONE mob. when not ranged pulling he will run up and attack mob A, then instantly turn around and attack mob B. what reason would we have to do the goats over the golden eggs? Eggs are worth tons of gold at the moment, and the only special item I got from doing goats for two days was a few +10 loyalty food which are pretty worthless since you can just buy loyalty food for a fraction of the cost of a golden egg.
I have the golden egg problem as well.... except it only occasionally picks them up. I haven't spent much time watching it, but I have noticed it NOT pick up golden eggs several times. If I leave it running for a set amount of time I'll complete the quest 40 or 50 times and only get 20 golden eggs. ...

The mainhand durability seems to be returning as a ##.###### string instead of the 0.####### that it used to. I fixed the problem by changing the flag in my profile to flip at 90 instead of 0.9
